Re: eBay find!!
HA!! I actually bought something from that dude. I bought a Spree gauge cluster assembly from him for like $12. I wanted the cheapest one I could find so I could practice my clear plastic lens restoration technique on. Didn't wanna use my own scoot as a test bed for something I've only done with pai...

Re: Getting the Tazland BBK, GEARS, + MLM ran on a dyno
When is the Dyno run, clark? Edge of my seat over here! Hoping for Friday or Saturday. The GN2 oil just made it in yesterday. I'm on 12 hour shifts at Polaris, but Friday we start later so I'll have a bit of time, and Saturday I have off, so hopefully I can get er done then. Friday for sure, all dr...

Re: Getting the Tazland BBK, GEARS, + MLM ran on a dyno
All I know though, is if my theory of 70:1 pump + 70:1 in tank plays out well, I will attempt to scale back the tank ratio even more after break in and see how it handles. Like maybe take it to 80:1 for a tank, then 100:1, etc. I think there is more potential in that stock carb letting it do what it...

Re: Getting the Tazland BBK, GEARS, + MLM ran on a dyno
I ran the heck out of the taz kit on my spree and it was extremely reliable. I seized it several times because I was an idiot while tuning, and this was my 1st 2-stroke experience (unless you count high school encounters). The quality of his product was great, I also bought the larger carb and inta...

Remember to always get drunk before shopping online. You'll usually end up with all kinds of cool stuff shipped to your door.

Re: questions about SE50 Spree swap
Have you tried wrapping tape on the pod filter about maybe a quarter way then test with different lengths of tape on it.

Re: Massive Honda Spree Restoring Project - Check it out!
Hmm, $450, and it even has the petcock cover (barely holding). Well, since it IS blue, as long as that is the original color. I'd haggle a bit, but I might be a bit persuaded to buy that. Those would be harder to come by around my area, but when they do show up, they go for $100-$200 at most. I woul...

Re: 87 Honda Spree Not Running, Fuel Problem
Had a motorcycle body shop repair my plastics with some new hi-tech polymer. Cost around $350 to have done. It's either that, or hunt down what you need on eBay. Your cost may differ. I had A LOT of damage to get repaired.

Re: Getting the Tazland BBK, GEARS, + MLM ran on a dyno
OK, since my fuel ratio for the Dyno run has been figured out. I'll throw in this other stat. I just ordered 4 quarts of Pro Honda GN2 Injector Oil. Can't remember what was in there, I think it was the cheap stuff from Walmart I tossed in back when I first got the Spree and was trying to get it to r...

Re: Getting the Tazland BBK, GEARS, + MLM ran on a dyno
So here's my math calculations on the fuel. Pump produces 70:1 (allegedly). If I run 70:1 in the tank (70:2 total), I get 35:1 lubrication. The tiny carb and it's jet, now no longer has to try pushing out the heavier oil in addition to fuel it was meant to deliver. I think that is a happier place fo...

Re: Getting the Tazland BBK, GEARS, + MLM ran on a dyno
Taz, what jet size are you using on your stock carb Spree that you and your boy are able to rip around on? Edit: And I agree, modding isn't for every one. After I got my BBK, my first thought was... OK, NO PROB, I CAN INSTALL THIS...EASY.. 4 stroke BBK's are harder and you have to mess with valve ad...

Oh just so everyone knows. Told Shawn my "ABORT" temp for the Dyno run will be 280 degrees. jakubman1, I feel bad for you and REALLY REALLY crossing my fingers that if we don't at least learn something about getting it to run right, we at least learn how it performs.. YOU GUYS are the ones...

I disagree, I think the missing link is a better intake. Though a better carb would absolutely help. It's why I want to find the SB50 reeds to swap, and I have an intake in mind as well.patthesoundguy wrote:I think the missing link is a better carb

Noiseguy, could you send me a filter that is as close in spec to an exact factory replacement as possible? I think you have my address. If not PM me and I'll shoot that your way.

Re: Getting the Tazland BBK, GEARS, + MLM ran on a dyno
Update... just got back from the shop, and I was talking to him about some of the concerns that the Spree would not spin the Dyno drum. He said it's a 1,000lb drum, but uses inertia something or other... INSERT TECH JARGON HERE Long story short, said it should be no problem at all, showed me how you...
