Re: Honda Lead NH50
Chasing down spark issues, I start on one end and follow the trail back to the source. I start at the sparkplug, then coil wire, then the harness connections tracing back to CDI, then CDI..ultimately eliminating everything else until the stator is the final item. Im lucky for having many similar bik...

Re: Honda Lead NH50
In my garage, I have an old timing light that clips to the battery and ignition wire. That tells me if spark is getting to the wire while cranking. Some auto parts stores will loan you one for free or we have a generic tool store in the US (harbor freight) that sells them for about $30usd.

Guys, dont you have recommendation for big bore kit please. I would go for the Contessa with that pipe. Otherwise its Corsa all the way but the Technigas will hold you back. Link below and use promo code “kittens” for 15% off until 11/30. https://www.treatland.tv/SearchResults.asp?Search=Corsa With...

Re: AF05 polini carb help!
I know dropping the mj 10 to start with sounds crazy but the cp carbs like smaller mj’s than the pwk’s.

Re: AF05 polini carb help!
Start fishing, as I call it. Unscrew the mixture screw 3 full turns and drop the main jet by 10 and see if it gets super crisp and zingy. Dont ride it this way, its only for tuning while on the stand to find the ballpark. Once you get those crisp snappy throttle blips (mega-lean), the rpm’s will han...

Re: Chinese Carb Success(?)
I picked up a basket case Spree for quick flip that had no carb. Instead of investing in an oem, I optd for a chinese ebay carb for about $22. For starters, the mounting flange to the intake was not flat. So bad that the o-ring would not seal so I needed to slather it with Hondabond. Next, the slide...

Re: 1987 Honda Spree idles then dies, difficult restart
What all will I need to rebuild the OEM? Can I just clean the carb and jets or do I need to replace all gaskets etc.. https://www.ebay.com/itm/361929010182?hash=item5444a66c06:g:aTUAAOSwSlBYyWQ9&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA4P7YummCk5Q24J9W4wgBkBlsE0Gu8rnDQchx9SIIKxZA%2BewnW1lLGyRBYl0QFCtdloVZ7GGs0cpiV...

Re: 1987 Honda Spree idles then dies, difficult restart
Ditch the new carb and rebuild the OEM one. Most replacement carbs that “fit spree” are absolute junk. The airbox gasket might be a small contributor since the box is designed/engineered to flow a certain cfm. My spree ran like garbage with some tiny holes drilled in the lid from a previous owner. R...

Re: Honda SA50 Headlight Replacement?
I remember Kevin710 swapped a bunch of scooters to full LED. Blinkers, brakelights, headlight, etc…and there was a special resistor? Capacitor? Doo-hicky? That had to be used. Something that if not used would cause the LED’s to flash. He had a whole box of them and gave me a few I never used. He sai...

Re: 2001 Honda Elite Newbs 1st Scooter
I typically run 3x5g and 3x5.5g with the ZX and Polini for Ruck vari. Takes off like a slingshot. Tough to keep the front wheel down. Good for around town, urban assault. Another scoot has all 6.5g with 8:1 gears. No neck snapping take-offs but tops out close to 70mph around 11k rpms. Back country r...

Aside from the wiring gremlins…does that say 17.5mm carb and Arrow on a stock bore? Thats like $400 in parts for nothing more than tuning issues and a cool sound. Get the Corsa, man.
