Advice: 1986 CH150 2k miles $300 w/ title

Post by Saved »

Here's the scoop: A guy got ahold of me and told me about his '86 Honda Elite Deluxe Ch150. It has been sitting in storage since the early / mid 90's. He never drained the gas out. He claims the plastics are good and it has dust all over it.

Apart from draining the gas tank, carb rebuild, cleaning various lines / screens, replacing fuel lines, new oil, tires, and possible brake issues... what could I expect?

That's a good price it its in decent shape.

Bigluelok is right - it has tubeless tires and the rubber valve stems are known to deteriorate over time. Replace them with bent stainless bolt-on valve stems from eBay.

Also check to make sure the tires aren't cracked.

Well, I'm sure the tires are shot. I'd put money on it.

He said it's in good condition except for a few scratches here and there.
