95 Honda Elite - SA50 - 1900 orig. miles

Post by Snowman94 »

I am thinking about getting this scooter from a friend. He wants $450 and it runs fine but needs a bunch of plastics, even the front one with the glove compartment. I have fixed up a 1/2 dozen Kymco ZX50s and Super9s but never owned a Honda. Want to go fast, and even take it drag racing with 120cc kit. Dont want to modif the spension too much (not a welder).

450? Good deal? This should have that AF16E engine correct?

Should have the AF16E, "Dio" engine. Just check the trans cover.

Price depends on what it is worth to you, and your buddy.

Plastics are NOT cheap to replace, keep that in mind if you want a stock looking body.

My gut says it is a decent deal. I will probably give him 400 and let him ride it one time when it is done, lol. I found the front inner plastic for the clove compartment on ebay for around 50. I am good with body work so I think I can fix the rest after just taking a better look at it.

This is gonna be fun. I hopefully won't miss the 1500 more I am going to put into it!

Should be easy build if you are familiar with the zx50. This honda will be less weight and easier to throw around though.

I picked it up last night, gave 380 for it and popped it in the ole Explorer. It rides pretty good so I am sure it has been derestricted. Going to be sourcing the parts for the build over the next week or so. Here is the plan.

Seat cover
Front plastic
Front wheel well plastic
Underside Plastic (gotta double-check)
Adjustable rear shock
Maybe convert to disc brakes (if possible)

Performance
120cc Cylinder
Bigger Crank
30mm carb
Race exhaust (not the type that sit 3feet past bike)
Everything else, Var, Belt, Intake etc..

These scooters are cool, I like it a lot already. Took it for a spin around the hood while my kitted Kymco Super9 watched, *. :surprise:
