I have a 2001 honda elite 80 and I was riding the other day and blew a belt. I got it home and took off the belt cover to find a shreaded belt and some damage to the front clutch plate cover. The face of the front clutch has cooling fins that extend past the ramp. I broke every one of them off. SO my question is do I need a new clutch plate or can I get away with just a new belt? Are the fins that extend that important to cooling? Any suggestion would be helpful.

I finally got around to fixing the elite 80 and I put a new oem drive face and belt on. I put it all back together and 0-15 it takes off good 15-25 it dog's and 25-42 it picks up speed. Before the belt blew it ran great 0-42mph no problems. The carb is clean and everything is back together right. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHY I'M DOG'N AT 15-25MPH?
That's because the new belt and drive face isn't slipping (while is what wastes your old belt) and when the stock rollers move out before the engine hits peak torque its a dog until then. Lighter rollers would cure that.
