I've heard tales of them flying apart at high rpm's. No personal experiance though. Apparently the KOSO fans are ok, but stock seems to do pretty well for most people.

I don't notice a difference in power unless I look down and see the Honda red spinning in there, then it takes off like a crotch rocket. :peace: I have not hit it with a temp gun yet but I consider it a pure cosmetic piece.

from an engineering background, I would say since the fan is rotating clockwise, the purpose of the aftermarket one this is to scoop up more air than the stock fan, but whether its as good at re-directing this air towards the engine is debatable since the aftermarket fan has no cone to help direct air.

I would say it has potential, with some R&D, but the stock one works great.

Koso fans have the "reversed" fins as well. This makes a slight "whistling" sound... What the Koso fans are known for! I had a Koso fan, and despite the horror stories of the Koso fans flying apart, I never had a prob with mine.

As Baka suggests- stock is as good as they come for fans-

iv been running koso fans on all my motors since 2006 and have never had a single problem. all my motors have been no larger then 75cc though, maybe running one on a big stroker or something with a rotor kit would destroy one but not a lightly/moderately built motor. it makes a descent difference in temperature too, plus i love the slight whistling sound.
