87 Aero 50 tires

Post by Big AL »

Looking for some advice...My Aero is currently running a 2.75 for a front tire and a 3.00 for a back tire....The front tire is on its last legs....Can I upgrade to a 3.00 on the front as well?? There looks like there is plenty of room..Is a 3.00 the largest I dare go for a back tire??? Do larger tires affect speed?? I don't want to lose any speed for the sake of a bigger tire... Help please !

yeah you can run a 3.00x10 tire or a 80/90-10 tire up front. for the back you can run a 90/90-10 tire. there are some 3.50x10 tires that will fit without rubbing but for sure a 90/90-10 will fit. the taller tire will give you another 2-3mph more topend too. try to keep the front as close to the oem size so it doesnt throw the steering feel off to much and the speedo. the 80/90-10 front tire keep those really close. you got alot of options for tires with those sizes
Nothing like getting stroked!

Tks for the info...I guess I'm kind of old school about tire sizing....I understand 2.75-10 and 3.00-10 sizes...I'm still trying to grasp the 80/90-10 and 90/90-10 concept.... Side by side how do these tires compare ?.. Is there a simple way to explain this ?? My scooter runs tubes, so can I run tubes in tubeless tires or must I run tube tires ?
