The Charm of a Spree?

The Charm of a Spree?
I was just wondering what the charm of the Spree is. I picked one up to work on with a spare junk One to go along with it as a parts bike. As I look at it I realize there is no under seat storage. It is very small and that it has no variator so it is going to be slow. So what is the charm?
Re: The Charm of a Spree?
They're cheap, light (80#), and small. 25-30 MPH is all the faster some folks need to go. That's it.

its all in the eye of the beholder .. lol
one man can put it in a truck or put it on a work by your self...
and if you do a motor swap you have a little bike with a faster motor..

They are very light and small. Would work well as a bike for a boat trip for those with a large boat. They are pretty easy to work on it looks like. The two side plastics are easily removed. That darn lack of a variator is a big bummer though.

Re: The Charm of a Spree?
My stock spree gets more attention than the bada-ss Harleys at the local bike gathering spot. Same with my express and its even more teeny than my spree. Young hot girls all want to ride on my spree. No joke. Don't underestimate the power of the spree. Especially a powder blue one

Re: The Charm of a Spree?
The Spree is just plain simple. Simple to get the platics off and work on. Good clearance for the carburetor and the spark plug. Stuff is easy to get to. The filter box is simple and the filter element is easy to remove to clean and prep. The electrical is pretty well protected from the elements. In a word it is well designed.
While the lack of a variator sucks, it seems to me the single speed is more direct within the power band and offers instant speed with little lag. That coupled with the extreme low weight of the scooter does offer some quickness within limits.
And then its styling is old school "cute".
