Just picked up a Spree

Post by romprer »

So i picked up this old junk scooter as a side project to work on and with a little research I found this community...

And it leaves me wondering, whats the obsession with this little thing?

Im eager to learn more about this project and find out what I actually got my hands on here

I think the thing I like the most about the Spree is how easy it is to get to everthing. I can remove the rear rack and the side panels in about 2 minutes. I can actually get a screw driver at the rear screw on the bystarter. A good amount of room around the carburetor.

Here on the board in the wanted for sale, abreen89 sells some parts that are handy like coils and bystarters and ebay look for seller chop chop which is our man Taz here on the board who sells big bore kits, intakes and carb setups and some hard to find stuff like rear brake cables and ignition switches and seat locks

I like a Spree because it only weigh about 75lbs and mine fits in the trunk of my car. Otherwise there's nothing much to like about them. The headlight alone costs as much as a new engine! If I had my druthers, I'd ruther have a monkey bike.

Don't know where you would get a whole spree motor for 35$, because that is how much I've seen headlights go for usually. And a spree unless youve somehow striped it of a bunch of stuff weighs 90 pounds dry weight. Still easy to put in the trunk though.
