Re: Variator travel
I'm not wondering how....I'm wondering WHY ?
I don't know what you're trying to prove...dear lord, 73mph is insanely fast.

Re: Variator travel
Greetings:
Your Sharpie marks appear to show you're getting almost all you can as it is. I know, I know you're still a couple of mm from the ragged edge.
Try this: Remove the variator and belt. Put the belt in the variator on the workbench and close the sheaves all the way. Now see where the belt sits when you loop it around the sheaves. If it appears to come to rest in the same position as your ink marks suggest, you'd have to figure out what stops the variator travel at its limit and address that. If it does sit higher - like right at the edge or even proud of the edge of the sheaves, consider a longer belt. ZX tranny standard is 654mm, measured around the outer belt circumference. A Vintage 2000s Metropolitan belt is 661mm. There's also a 669 mm ZX belt out there somewhere. Beware of that one: 1. Quality may be poor. 2. Can slow take-off.
Good luck!
