good degreaser recomendations?

I need to clean the oil off of the inside of my plastics and i wanted to know if anyone had any plastic safe degreaser recommendations?

I shot some carb cleaner on the grease and it turned the plastic white

so...i don't want to go though that again.

Simple Green or I've had good luck with mineral spirits.

i used gas to get the old paint off of my plastic and now its as shiny as it was outta the factory! its great... but yea it was unleaded 87 lol not that it would matter.

Gasoline is a bad idea, expecially if you smoke

. Every once and a while you see where someone burned themselves to a crisp using gasoline to clean things

What about brake cleaner? May not be plastic-safe but it's certainly a good degreaser.

Or get some "Goop" type hand cleaner in the round containers. That might work since it's suppose to clean grimey hands. Should be plastic safe since its safe on bare hands.

Brake cleaner is less agressive that carb cleaner. Try it someplace that doesn't show first.

A bucket of hot water, simple green, and a scrub brush has a lot going for it when it comes to cleaning grease off of things. I added a hot water tap on my back patio to feed my pressure washer. Soak something with simple green, let is soak for a while, then blast it with the pressure washer and it will come clean.

I use something called "Oil Eater" - comes in a spray bottle from the local auto parts store. It has a tendency to strip the gloss off old paint if you leave it on too long though. Its supposedly biodegradable and not too stinky.

For more delicate stuff you can use Go-Jo or Goop hand cleaner (without the pummice) on painted surfaces. Rub it on with a tooth brush, wipe most off with paper towel and rinse with water.

wow, i don't know why i never thought of goop, it works like magic on greasy hands. i thing goop and simple green are what i'm gonna try.
