Big thanks to James (ubcnme)

Post by Karman »

James responded to my post about his vented clutch cover in the pictures thread and offered to pick one up and ship it for me at cost. It came in today. Thanks James!

I could have really used it yesterday. I was caught in a big time thunderstorm on my way home from work. Hit two big puddles and my exposed clutch got soaked and spun free after losing grip from all the water. Not fun.

You could do that with the stock cover and a mill.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

Sorry, dont have a mill. If I had a cnc mill I wouldn't be on here, I would be CNCing spree CVTs and bore kits.

I was about to go that route but I don't have access to a mill. By the time I paid a machine shop to do it, it wasn't too much more and I can hold on to my stock one.

I don't have a CNC mill but I do have a manual one. If I can ever round up pistons I will be doing Spree big bore stuff. I've bored out my spare cylinder but hit a brick wall trying to find a .5mm oversize piston. Still looking for some and also the big bore pistons.

I ordered a .5mm over piston and rings. I got the rings and a note saying the pistons were discontinued. Now I just need to find pistons to wrap the rings around.

I remember finding a site with the 5 over pistons.

Thanks, I looked and they list it as "not available". I'm just going to have to get lucky and find one on the shelf somewhere.
