I may be trading my POS Buick for a 96 Elite S Dio...

Body is good, ignition is FUBAR (someone tried stealing it and left it in the alley), and here's what he told me:

He removed the govenor (I had no idea it had one) and drilled the pipe already. NO OTHER MODS it supposedly will do 50.

The car is worth $500 and he's asking 700 for the moped.

IMO I think I'm getting a good deal just for the engine in it, but what do you guys think?

I really thought about this and I just can't pass it up. A running Dio, from what I've heard on here those are d*** hard to find.

I'll be reading the manual tonight to learn more about the motor.

Since its an Elite S, the governor he says he removed could of been the restrictor plate on the variator.

And the exhaust drill mod, I think its a waste of time, just makes it louder.

So with that said, you should be happy if it does 35mph.

Thanks a ton for the input. The guy said that he disabled the stock speedo and added a digital one cause it would bury the needle, he says it goes way past 35. I'm going to remove the digital one, I think it's neat watching that needle go away... LOL

Also forgot to mention - I WILL mod this during the winter or early spring likely, and I'll need all the help I can get. So I'll be here alot more often.

Make me a list of the things that are free or cheap I can take care of first.

I know there's a few small things, drilling the pipe is already done, sounds like restrictor pate is gone, if not I'll remove it for sure.
