Does the Aero have the same engine as a '93 Elite SR?
I'm just wanting to know if there are gears and other goodies out there for an Aero.

Re: Another question
In short, yes. I believe there is an early year which has a few differences.JONESER wrote:Does the Aero have the same engine as a '93 Elite SR?

Re: Another question
Ive found an 85 Aero that another friend of mine might buy. But it has to have the potential to get to about 50 MPH. I know it would be easier to drop in a Dio, but I cant find any Dio's for a reasonable price around here.
Re: Another question
I don't know how the 85 would do specifically, but here is the list:JONESER wrote:Ive found an 85 Aero that another friend of mine might buy. But it has to have the potential to get to about 50 MPH. Bore - cheapest is $90+ shipping
varriator - approx $35-50
gears - approx $80-90
probably would want to redo the clutch springs - $15
So around $225 - 250 total. Less than a dio, but plenty of work.
That would get you 50+ mph.
Search for Wheelman's Flash II and ask Novs for some of what they did. If the 85 has the same engine i think it has, it is very possible.

Re: Another question
double check the gears in your aero.spin the clutch bell and count how many times it goes around to 1 wheel revolution.I think some aero's came with 10to1 gears which is good to 58mph on the stock bore and carb.
Nothing like getting stroked!

The only hint of 10:1 gearing I've seen was in the '87 SE50 Elite, a one-year-only ratio, AFAIK. If you can hit 58 on a stock-bore Elite, you're probably pointing down a double-diamond run at Vail. With a tailwind.think some aero's came with 10to1 gears which is good to 58mph on the stock bore and carb.
