Re: Does anyone else own a Honda NS 50?

Post by z50r-ghost »

Hey Sanj,

While searching eBay "Honda HRC" search, I stumbled upon this full titanium silencer "can" for an NSR125. The size of this silencer is very close to my Libra Pro silencer, and it only costs $150! I think it looks freaking bada$$!! If I had not ordered my Libra Pro silencer (and spent around $315), I would have definitely ordered this one. It is the nicest silencer I've seen next to the Libra Pro... It looks so similar to it, but its TITANIUM!! ;)

Give it a look; it's right here:

-I know that you are planning on just riding your NS, and not modifying it for a while... But I felt like I *had* to share this silencer with ya... It was too cool not to share! I love titanium!

Talk to you later, "NS buddy,"

Greetings:

Hate to burst your Ghostly bubble, Dawg, but look at the dimpling around the rivets. Color's wrong for Ti Too.

Hey mr Wheelman!

Good eye, dude; I saw the dimpling too; but if you look really closely, to me it looks like the dimpling is actually a shadow when the pic was taken.

I thought the TI color was a bit off too, but if you look at the pic where the pipe has been installed (and heated up) on the NSR125, you can see the "stinger" tip starting to change color to that TI rainbow color!

I'm not sure about the actual "can" though; kinda looks aluminum to me...

Give it another look and see if you think the rivet "dimples" you see are actually shadows.

I will not be buying this pipe because I have the Libra Pro Japanese silencer on my "baby"
 -I just love the Libra Pro silencer... And I love the HUGE rivets it has!

That's what I love about you Mr Wheelman; that eye you have for extreme detail!! It shows!! :2thumbs:

Jon, have you actually seen a picture of the entire Libre Pro pipe for the NS50? The picture on WeBike only shows the silencer. I'm afraid that if I order it there would be fitment issues since I'm guessing it was really made for the NSR50.

I'm calling the shipper tomorrow to get a more precise date on delivery of my bike.

Hey Sanj,

sure dude, Libra Pro makes a "Bark-SP M9" for the NS50F / NS50R

Judging from the pics I've seen, it fits beautifully!

Actually, here's a link so you can see-

http://www.alphin.jp/sports/50/nsr/libra.html

I'll see if I can get you an actual part number to go with the picture...
My guess is go to Webike and search NS50F, and the Libra Pro pipe under that category will be the "Bark-SP M9."

Hope this helps, jon

Oh... I was hoping that you *may* be considering doing a mod or two to your arriving NS... I knew you couldn't stay stock for very long...

What color silencer are you looking for though? That's the only thing I'm not sure on how Webike list them, all the Libra Pro pipes shown have the black silencer "icon."

I like the carbon, but it's really pricey. Will probably get the black down the road, but just want to get used to the bike in stock form. This wait is killing me.

Terrible video quality, but this looks like a Libra Pro or something similar in profile:

The pipe on the NS in the vid is a hydro-formed pipe, not a "conical" welded pipe like the libra pro... That looks dead on the Daytona NS50 pipe to me! :thumbwink:

I forgot to add, you will probably be really impressed with the stock pipe on the NS; it makes great all around power... Especially down low to mid. I've heard alot of the MB5 guys adapt the stock NS pipe to their MB's because of it's great all around use. It's remarkably quiet, as well. I notice more intake sound than exhaust sound on my buddy's stock NS.
