Uni filter

Post by JONESER »

Will putting a Uni pod filter cause the scoot (Dio) to run any worse than a stock airbox set-up? I know I have ridden the scoot after working on it and leaving the airbox off. It pretty much runs like crap, put the airbox & filter on and it runs perfect. I would like to get a Uni pod filter to get rid of the airbox but not unless it runs like it should, I dont wanna waste the money to find out. That's why all of you super scooter knowledgeable people are on this awsome site! LOL

THANKS!

Keep stock airbox and keep it running like it's supposed to, unless your doing a build and plan on using a big carburetor.

Eventually I want to do more with a bigger carb. Will the Uni pod restrict the stockish set up?

If you run the uni filter, you will have to rejet your carb because it will be running lean.Thats why when you put the airbox back on it runs good. The airbox has some air restriction from the snorkle inlet and the filter.

Will it be running lean since I'm running a #85 main jet?
My set up so far is an #85 main jet, Keli variator with 9g rollers, 9:1 gears.

What is your displacement? All these changes without a bbk may be detrimental. It takes more displacement to digest the extra fuel.

Believe it or not the stock bore can handle the extra air and fuel.Honda derestricts the flow because of epa standards and gas mileage.

bump to a 88 or 90 jet without the airbox and drop the clip to the bottom slot.use a new plug to check how its running. With the cooler air now your bike is running leaner than is was a month or few months ago.
