reccomend me a street tire

Post by 94cruiser »

Please recommend me a street tire.
My scoot has a little over 5000 miles and the rear tire is worn out.
I will ride it all summer long in dry and wet weather but will not take it off road.

The stock tire has a tube, right?
What's the pro/con of tubless?
I do have a leak now (from the valve where it meets the rim).
I remember days I had to pump it up in the morning and in afternoon leaving work, then days where I did not need to pump at all.
After wintertime storage it was all flat.

go here for tires good prices, since you have a 2000 SA50 like i do. your will have tubes, you need to keep the tubes or the tubeless tire may fail on the rim. so you can either get tube type tires or get tubless and use the tube anyway.

I'd say go with tubes just for the ride. A little more cushion

Greetings:

I've had good luck with these. The SL26 90/90 fits for sure. Better traction and nicer profile than stock round-section 3.00s and 3.50s. Not much softer ride compliance, though. Some brands of 3.50 (Kenda, specifically) have been reported to fit the rear for ride comfort. Both 90/90 and 3.50 will need to be deflated to install the rim on the axle, then re-inflated. I currently have a Michelin S1 3.50 up front which I like too.

Ive got a Kenda 3.50 on the back of my Aero 50 right now. Im thinking of the SL26's front and rear for it soon though. Will a 3x10 SL26 fit the rear of an Aero 50?

I use the SL26's on my Helix and like them there, ive also got Pirelli SC30's on my Elite 150. They are fine, but it may get SL26's too.

Greetings:

Pirelli SL26 in the 3.00 should be no problem fitting to Aero. I had that tire in the 90/90 size which is both taller and wider, on mine. Deflate to mount, then no fit issues. Fitting the larger 3.50 SL26 is unknown, if that's what you meant to ask. That one may be too tall.
