Any people good with welding and have old sleds?

Post by wikked_spree57 »

I need a sled trans (dont have the parts yet but primary clutch) installed in my Ruppster. I have a 10HP briggs mounted in it and a centrifugal clutch doesnt work, i either have power and no speed or vise versa.

I have a nice NC6000 HP laptop to trade for the work and parts, needs nothing but a battery which is $30 on eBay.

Anyone? If you're local to the Saginaw area or close and can help me out let me know. I would pay cash but I blew most of it on the motor I have in it. Let me know!

You need a comet cvt, not a snowmobile trans.

Your 10hp briggs can not spin a snowmobile clutch fast enuff.

I wish I could afford one. I'm sure if I changed out the springs etc it would work?

Problem i got is i have $550 in this kart as it is. Would like to finish it or close to it for as little as possible. I tried selling the kart but I didn't get any offers I was pleased with or thought I could use. So I figure instead of backing out I'll finish a project I started for once.

If I had a welder handy I'd do it myself, but my friend with a welder has been on the fritz and has alot on is plate, so he dont have the time to wrench on it. I bought the kart for the same reason, it was a project he couldnt afford to finish.

I ride sleds and have some parts laying around. What are you looking for? My friend has a 95 ski-doo parts sled and the parts I have are off a 81 ss440. Do you ride? I am up in michigan about every weekend if there's snow on the trail. exit 1 to the u.p but mostly manistee or cadillac.

Manistee?

Well hello neighbor :hi:

We should ride scooters sometime.

We ride from manistee to onekama on m22 with 6-10 mopeds.

I rode a sled over this past winter, I had a few. I liked my Polaris the best... it was a 93 XLT 600 triple, I got a deal on it, $300 not running. Cleaned and adjusted the carbs and it was great. Even got paperwork showing it had hot rod crank and rods, smear proof forged pistons, shaved head, this thing would not keep the skis down.

As far as parts, I got someone locally who has a Comet 40 clutch I need. Rediculously cheap also at $125 considering it's still wrapped in factory plastic and has never been used. That's both clutches AND a belt ;)
