scooter rebuild 88 sa50

Post by TikiMan »

Just a few quick ?s on rebuilding my scooter. I have replaced all the parts that were rusted through and one of the cases. Bearings and everything are in so my ?s follow.
?1 Do I have to grease or lube the bearings in the cases.
?2 what do you gentleman recommend for jetting with a 70cc kit
?3 Should I put some thin oil on the cylinder wall before installing the piston and rings

Greetings:

PM sent.

1. I use Honda GN-2, HP-2 or whatever brand of 2-stroke oil you prefer.
2. I'm not aware of any 70cc kit for the SE/05. 47mm = 65cc. Jetting up to low-90s for the bore kit alone. More if intake mods and still more for aftermarket exhaust. I had a home-rolled 101 before switching to an Arreche carb.
3. Paint the piston ring lands, rings skirts and bore liberally with the same oil as #1.

Most of my money is spent on scooterparts. The rest is just wasted.
