Baka, the bike that beat you is a smallframe Vespa. Largest stock engine displacement on those motors was 121cc (called 125s) and the biggest, baddest setup for those motors is 152cc with a stroker crank and a Falc cylinder. In order to hit 166cc, he'd have to stuff the motor from a largeframe Vespa into the chassis, particularly a 125/150cc motor and a Malossi kit on it. I did see a P/PX-series bike in the race (the one with the turn signal holes in the rear of the cowls). Not sure if swaps like that are legit, but I figured I'd mention it. Heck, smallframes are like 75% scale vespas and weigh a fair bit less than the big bikes. P-series bikes weigh about 235lbs and the 125cc smallframes weigh around 165lbs.

I race in the 190cc mod class and open 190cc so they can mod those bikes to 190cc.the guy that beat me has major engine work .he is using a piston for a motorcycle and had the cylinder decked because the piston pin height was lower and also to get the port timing right. So the bbk kit has been oversized too. They are all using 30mm mikuni carbs on there setups. Either way they have twice the cc and twice the hp I'm running and weight difference is around 67lbc between the bikes which isn't much.you have also consider that there bike is lighter also because of stuff taken off for racing so that stock weight is flawed. Mine will be heavier than the stock weight as I added oil filled front shocks and heavy duty rims to the bike. Not much weight around another 3 or 4 lbs.

I pin point these things out so that if there are guys out there that want to race but see that there are bikes they are racing against that have more power or more cc's then them that they still have a chance to either win or take a podium spot with a smaller under powered scooter.

Nice Video Baca. Reminds me of the old days,
I liked your explanation of why you choose a smaller bike than your competitors.

I choose the elite because I know it better had parts for it and I raced on one back in the day so I feel more confident racing one. plus I wanted to see if I would have a chance racing against the vespas. just wanted to be the true under dog on the track.

Greetings:

I just watched the video, riveted. Much respect. It's great that you stayed in contact with a bike that has 2.3x more displacement. Even better, you continued to run your own race and stayed smooth. Obviously your opponent made all his time on the straightaway.

Thanks! I tried to push him to make a mistake.I might try out my mini stroke setup at practice to see if it holds up to the hard track riding.

I should race my stock 87 and swap the dio motor and race on the stock front brakes to show that the stock 87 brakes in the front can handle it too.
