No hate your way phatkix.......but a zing for sure......racers just dont want to hear all that maybe next year sh**......I'm no hard-core racer, but decided to put up or shut up......watched for many years before finding a special niche that got me excited about joining in.....minimotard......when you find your niche, and maybe you have with scooters, then put up....go for it....make it happen.....ambition will reward itself......flapping your gums will catch flies

just get out there. if your thinking you need all the goodies on your bike to win, your in for a surprise. if you haven't race before on scooters or crotch rocket then your not going to be up front with guys that have raced before.start off slow first. you dont need a fast bike to be fast on the track. you need track time first and lots of it, then the engine work and goodies can go on later.

I ended up disintigrading a malossi kevlar belt in that 8lap battle with that derbi with a piaggio wc motor 70cc mertakit 2 full race setup 24hp 16k motor.broke with 1 lap to go. so DNF for me in that class. put a new belt in to race in the open class against the vespas. battled with that derbi for about 5 laps to stretch a good lead on the 3rd place bike and cruised the next 5 laps so i finish the race. took 2 2nd place and one 1st place yesterday.

Greetings:

What a way to go.

Wanna sell me that Malossi belt? I think I can fix it, and it's Italian!

Sinceriously, if there's any yellow in that belt, see if you can cut it with scissors. If you can, go after Malossi for the "Kevlar" claim. I don't see much evidence of the stuff in the shredded remains.

that belt was accually really good. this was the 4th race on it and it finally let go. it was the only one I trusted. all the other belts broke even faster. a KN kikaku belt brand new broke in 6 laps, the polini one depends. some hold up for a while while some start to seperate in 1 heat race(6laps)

ell races went good. took 2nd and lost by 2 bike lengths down the very long straights. didn't have enough gears on topend. maxed the 7.5to1 gears at 84mph. need the 6.8to1 gears to get past the 90mph range. the guy that beat me hit 90mph . taking turns at 60-70mph was pretty scary as we raced on the portland international raceway. same track the champ cars race on and the big bikes.
