TURN1, I too know of a guy in Hawaii who has an immaculate NS50. He is actually a buddy of elite_dub, and I have seen his NS; it is in showroom condition and it has all the factory 1990 options such as the windscreen, lower cowl, rear pillon seat, and radiator cowl. From what I could see though, it looked stock to me. Still amazing, right down to the "Miami Vice" (colored) graphics. Jay emailed me his email address, and I will be emailing him soon to chat.

Im with Sanj.... is there any way you could find some pics to share? Better yet, if you personally know these guys, I would love to talk to them.

My NS 50 has seen some massive changes in the past month; mostly just "clean up" work, and getting my plan of attack ready... I want put together a fast & super-reliable bike I can ride this spring and summer instead of driving the car.

What's NOT here yet: A really BIG order of OEM Honda parts! I ordered pretty much all that was still available! Just waiting for everything to come in from different warehouses.

One of the parts bike's "toasted" 50cc cylinder about to go out to Billy Wiese (WRW) for a re-bore and a full porting job w' head match.... Just have to save up some moneys first; bore job $60, porting job quoted at $300 if I remember correctly.

I wanted to stay with the factory cylinder; evidently it has the potential to make the BEST performance and HP. I have learned that most all of the aftermarket Japanese cylinders are OEM Honda, then are just bored out... there is a TON of "meat" there for a bore-job!

As for the wheels, not a definite yet, but I really want to stick with the spoked wheels; that's what makes it an NS 50! (and not so much an NSR 50) I will be upgrading to a set of Excel (black) rims, thicker spokes, and an RM80 front disk brake swap.

Anyways, here are a few pics I had taken on my phone of some parts that had arrived. I will post up some pics of the NS 50 once I get parts back from the powdercoater.

Nice bike, I don't own a NS50 but a MBX50 AC the frame is the same except for the backpart.

I was fishing around Deepinnaharta Honda's website and came upon this slow-selling track-only creation:
NSR-50
They also have a twin-cam air-cooled 4-stroke Dream.
The caption reads "available Spring 2004 and it's still somewhere in DH's warehouse! I bet it ain't cheap, but wonder how hard it would be to swap frames and key parts with the titled NS frame...

Hey Wheels!

Back in 2004 I was the first one at my local Honda dealer to BUY a new one of those drool worthy track-only NSR50's! I bought it, modified it, and rode the heck out if it! I never converted mines to street legal, but that didn't stop me from having alot of fun on my local streets... Tremendous fun! It is a COMPLETE track only bike, no lighting coil, no air filter, and no kickstart!!

I sold it and made quite a bit of money with it; this was back when I was "a little too into" Japanese Honda Monkey Bikes. Remember those pics I posted up a while back?

Anyways, even with the NSR, the older NS 50 was my true love, even back then. I don't know what it is; those spoked wheels and Miami Vice graphics just do it for me!

I will dig up some pics of my NSR build and post them up on this thread.

My NS is doing well, the forks have been completely rebuilt with new seals, dust caps, and have been re-valved. The lower portion (shock bodies) are fresh back from the powdercoaters with a silver metallic coat. Pics to come!

Thanks to everyone who has posted; I know my NS isn't a Honda scooter.... But I'm really proud of it! Thanks for letting me share!

So I got my NS started up yesterday for the first time since installing the Calamari "factory" team race pipe, 24mm genuine Keihin carb (kitaco kit) and intake mani, reeds, clutch, radiator, ignition, etc.

WOW is it LOUD!!! Haha! It sounds just like a little GP bike! -that's actually what it is! The exhaust sound is amazing.... Usually a liquid cooled engine us a tad quieter than an air cooled engine, but there's nothing quiet about the NS!

Still have alot of work to do, but will hopefully have the fuel tank back from the body shop soon. I will post up progress pics then. It's looking great!

So, after a buddy from an NSR forum contacted me about having his NS to 2 Honda dealers, and a Honda "specialist" mechanic and having no luck getting his NS running, he drove it to me to fix all the way from Florida. In about 3 hours, his bike ran beautifully! He is a motorcycle collector, and was going on road trip with his DR-Z across the USA this summer, so he left his NS with me for the summer, and will pick it up on October 29 for the True Grits 50cc ride we are going to together.

SUPER nice dude... He told me to ride his NS all I wanted since my project isn't complete yet.

Let me say that the 1990 Honda NS is just about the most fun, versatile motorcycle I have ever ridden! (and I've ridden a "few" bikes in my 31 years)

The NS will do an effortless 65-70 mph top speed, get there insanely quick for a 50cc machine, and is as smooth as silk! Honda definitely got their NS/NSR Transmission right on the moneys... AND it's bulletproof!
The best part is it has no prob at all passing traffic and accelerating STOCK; and you get the fun of shifting gears ALL the time; upshifting and downshifting! I have owned a new Aprilia RS 50 I modified to top out around 80, and on the smoothness and fun scale, the NS takes it to another level!!

If any of you guys can get your hands on an NS, buy it... You will not be disappointed!! (your scooters will be disappointed though; they will not get much love and attention after you have ridden an NS)

...I will be able to ride my NS as soon as I get some extra moneys to have my new 68cc bore kit sent out to be checked over and hand ported, along with getting the head matched. On an NSR / NS 68cc bore, just getting the bore further ported and reworked, the power gain is pretty unreal, for what I have been told.

Another positive point I have been told about the NS / NSR engines; they can handle making alot of power really well; and when tuned correctly they are super-reliable. Long distance worry-free rides are what it's all about!
