How to stop your carb cover from flying off

Post by 66SIX »

I wanted to find a way to keep the carb cover from flying off .
The stock Honda plastic crap screw sucks ,
It makes about as much sense as a screen door in a submarine .
I got a nutsert set from Harbor Frieght ,
and just poped a nutsert into the fender
and use a real metal screw to hold the cover on .
Seems to work quite well .

Now all I have to do is find a slick way to keep the battery cover from Taking a hike ?

66Six,.......sticking with the liquid diet I see.......I lost 50 pounds on the Purina diet......just keep a pocket full of kibbles and munch on a couple when I feel the hunger........the neighbors have taken a dim view, however..........they've started complaining about me digging in their flowers and peeing on all the trees. Be right back, I've got a bone to bury......... :urban:

Thanks Guys But ....

Post by 66SIX »

Thanks guys .... But the story isn't over ... I went through all that bullshet sending unanswered e mails for over a week , The last e mails I sent the seller were kinda sorta almost rude ...Like whats your problem I have been sending you e mails for over a week . Then after seeing the ad on here I wrote some not so complementry things (see above)...
Ready for this ???
After I posted the stuff on here .........

I get a email from the seller with his phone number ... Im thinking maybe he saw what I wrote and was * off .
The guy was still kinda flakey on the phone dosent know what year it is couldn't answer any questions .
So I am still thinking it's a scam . But I said someone will be calling him to go look at the bike ,I ask whats your address ?
The seller says I will tell the guy that is coming to look at the bike  ?????
It just gets weirder and weirder ...
OK take a chance , A friend in Vegas has a cousin in Hollywood Fla. not far from Miami and will go take a look at the bike
He picked it up for me today , and says it looks like new , but no key / carb problems / bad battery /rusty gas in the tank and no title but it does have a kick start ? Great another Gyro that I will not be able to get parts for .
Now I have to figure how to get it to Vegas without it costing an arm & a leg . I hope this story will have a happy ending .

I guess I will have to try some more creative ways to ship a Gyro from Fla.

Thanks motormike I made some calls today and a friend said it would be no problem .but I have to get it to Orlando ,he said they truck show equipment all the time and would be able to throw it on the back of a truck ( he's a old drinking buddy ) So it might cost me some beers . I don't know when their next Orlando /Vegas run will be but I am really jazzed about this bike . I am guessing but I would be very surprised if there is another one in Nevada .
Your a good guy thanks for the help .

666 - I saw your ad in Miami trying to get your newly acquired Gyro to Vegas. If you need any help let me know.

The family and I are headed to SoCal the weekend of March 12th. (guaranteed - we just made reservations)

If your hired courier is just driving west and NOT Vegas, they can drop off with me (Albuquerque, NM just off I-40) between now and March 11th.

and I can deliver to you in Kingman, AZ (2hrs from Vegas) on the morning of 12 March.

Not sure if that helps but wanted to at least throw it out there as an option.

Good luck. :2thumbs:
