Metro wheels on an '87 NB50 Aero 50

I know the REAR rim from a Honda Metropolitan will fit on the Honda Aero 50 AF05 engine/ bike, but I wanted to confirm that a FRONT Metro rim will in fact fit onto a 1987 Honda Aero 50 frame/ forks.

What is required:

Metropolitan front rim
Metropolitan front brake panel/ complete assembly.

Anything else?

Is there a certain year range of the above parts that I should stay within?

Also, am I in need of the Metropolitan front mounting bolt/ sleeve/ mounting hardware? (or do I re use the original Honda Aero 50 mounting hardware)

all met years are the same... only thing i can think off is the met wheels total pacing may be narrower or wider than the aero... or it me be spot on the same. use the aero hardware and the only thing i can see is having to add washers to fill in any space between fork tubes.. if needed.

The Elite 95mm brake panel and wheel fit straight-up on the Aero.

The Met wheel fits the 2001 Elite, also without issues. Therefore tour Met wheel should be a bolt-on to the Aero. Use Aero hardware.

The only metro part you want are the rims. The rear bolts straight on as you already knew, and wheelman is spot on about the the front rim needing the elite brake panel.

You might also want to get a hold of an elite brake cable too. You can modify the aero one to work, but its never a great idea to mess with brake cable.

And I can confirm they do fit as I have done this myself.

also, i'm looking into the MET wheel/brake swap onto a spree..... any thoughts on this?

Greetings:

The Met and Spree both have telescopic forks. The Elite brake panel has a lug that locks the panel to the trailing links which can't be made to fit the Spree forks easily. However the Met brake panel's lug is vertical like the Spree's. I have no way of knowing if the axles and room between the forks would allow mounting the Met wheel along with its brake panel, never examined, but possible?

I did the front and rear metro wheels on my Aero 6 years ago...

I'll find pics of my aero and post them... Totally possible; used a 2001 elite SR brake panel...

Thanks Ghost. I can confirm that Met wheels front and rear fit both Aero and Early/Late Elite models. The question was whether the Met rim can be adapted to fit a Spree swap at the rear. (Clearance issues should be no worse than with Elite wheel. The related question was if a Met rim could be shoehorned into a Spree fork assembly. Not so sure about that one, even with a Met brake panel.

wasnt trying to be a smart * asking for pics lol. thanks for the good link

i started snooping around again..... i guess guys are cutting up elite front forks and modding spree forks to get better brakes? that sounds drastic. this might be a dumb question but can an aero front fork fit on a spree? if not would it be better to cut up an aero fork or an elite fork?

or am i just way over thinking this and can bolt an elite wheel onto the spree fork or something to get better brakes?

Well the Aeros are designed with fenders in mind (like the Sprees stock forks), so that would be a benefit.

wow looked right over this. need an aero front fork! this was what i was hoping for so i could keep a front fender on the spree. the line of parts from scoot to scoot seem to work but has anyone really put a Met wheel on an aero?
