lol i tried to use auto matic trans fluid as well just to see hehe. It works pretty nice , I figured that it is was made for meshing of gears, high pressure and temp. Only problem i have seen is that the oil is way thinner and it seems to make any really small leak become a bigger one hehe.
I have never used engine oil in my gear case.. maybe its because i never used engine oil in a rear end of car either..LOL but i did put sawdust in one once...
to each his own...

Greetings:

Noooo! Keep it organic, Man! Scrape up and save used KY Jelly and siphon it in there, mixed with bacon drippings.

Anyone sez otherwise should have his head examined by a stonecutter, then be deported to Yemen.

what do you think of the old straight weight oil like 30 sae why would that not be better than a multiple weight oil. Thats what Im going to put in on my next change. I put the closest oil in the shop in my gear boxes 80w, snowmobile chain case oil, dirt bike case oil, atf would be the best you could use for the gears and bearings but in my opinion You will need both new seals and gasket If atf is used that stuff will leak threw a beer bottle.

That is what the saw dust is for :naughty:

I think coffee beans and hot water should go in the trans cover.

FYI 80w90 is sulfur based and corrosive to certain metals, that in itself could be the sole reason that honda decided not to use it in their scoots
