in my most previous post I was talking about some issues I had with the PO's rigged up air filter falling off and after a little while of riding no airfilter it started to knock, so I have not ridden my scooter for over 2 weeks waiting for parts to come in from the local honda motorcycle shop. I was told the parts would arrive within a week. 19 days later I called and asked *? they proceeded to tell me that it turns out that the part has been discontinued and they would not be able to help me. so I took my trusty brain to the local AUTOZONE and purchased an upper radiator hose with an inside diameter of 1 inch that I could cut and squeeze to replace the tube that I had ordered. My plans were to revert back to the stock airfilter instead of the chincey unifilter that had a 2 inch inside diameter. anyways I got the foam piece sprayed it down with some foam filter oil treatment... put the section of hose I had made in slapped the plastics back on. and fired her up. NOW comes the question previously when the scoot had the old filter on it. she would get up to a whopping 25 miles per. NOW! she topped out at 18mph after tweaking the air screw. What's the deal dawg? am I looking at a jetting issue? or is it that oil spray stuff I put on not letting air in? heck I dont know I'm just a :newb: if it's the filter could you guys recommend a UNI filter that would fit correctly? I cant cruise to work at 18 miles per hour. thanks guy's

Allright, remove the air filter and figure out how much room you have from the carb air intake out. Then figure out how much width and height you've got. Now, google K&N air filters, go to their site, and find a universal air filter that will fit your dimensions. Order it, hoseclamp it on, and see what happens.

The spree is very particular about its air box. I must have an oiled filter with a proper fitting lid. If you use an aftermarket filter (K&N or similar you need to rejet the carb to prevent a toasted piston. Contact "mopedmark" (on this forum) on the tube between the carb and airbox. I believe he can help you out.

Your best bet would be to find a stock Spree carb to airbox tube.
