Tripping stop light sensors

Post by jbarb »

Alright, out with it. What are your tricks and tips for making the stop lights change for you? I was at the bike shop today and saw a little magnetic device that you put on you motorcycle to make the sensors see you. Would this work with just a regular magnet under the scooter? Is it some mystical device or just a 20 dollar magnet?

i dunno i usually run over the part that goes long way the way i am facing and keep rocking the ped forward and back at the same spot. Or I get off the ped and press the walk button.

It's just a $20 piece of steel or a magnet... what a racket.

Bicycles had the same problem, I'm surprized that scooters do. Best thing to do would probably be to put a chunk of steel in/on your riding shoes. The closer the steel is to the ground the better it works if it's smaller.

Yea,:( that is kinda high. But I know for a fact they work because my friends rich daddy has 2. The changing is instant and smooth, not choppy as many claimed. I keep looking for one cheaper but nothing so far.

You can buy/build an adjustable strobe flasher for about $20, 7 hz (7 times a second) is what they used to be set to. If a cop sees you with a visual flasher (white light) though, you can get an impersonating an officer ticket. You'd need to find a source for these IR-frequency bulbs, and convert one of the visual flashers.

If you find the parts, let me know, I'd be interested. :D

wait for a car, or turn right and find a slighly alternate route, try to flash your highbeams, and lastly if no-one's around.. run it.
