Did I get a good deal?

Alright. I just joined this Forum thing today. I purchased a 94-01 Honda Elite S. Not sure what year it is. its dark purple. has no battery or electric start but has everything else. motors got slight flaws. I payed $100 and 2 Xbox 360 Games for it. so roughly $150-175. I thought it was good deal but my parents think otherwise. Main question is, DID I GET A GOOD DEAL?

depends on what its worth to you. if you can kick start it and it runs, i say good deal. got p pic of your elite? oh yea welcome to the forum.

Ill have a pic posted up in a little bit. and one more problem. i kick the kick start down and IT STARTS... but it has this god-awful grinding sound so i use a piece of wood to put in between the bike and starter to stop the grinding sound. and thanks!

that grinding noise is most likely the kickstart binding up and staying in contact with the drive face, easy fix just take the kick cover off and clean it good on the inside and oil the moving parts. this usually happens when the little clip behind the kickstart lever slips and allows the inside gears to push in farther than they are supposed to. I say its a good deal

I doubt it's the kick mechanism if the piece of wood makes the noise go away. Need more info or pics of where exactly you put the wood.

yup I am pretty sure my earlier post is correct, the snap ring behind the kickstart lever has slipped allowing the spindle to push farther in causing the main gear to push the other gear that engages the drive face. Download the manual in the tech documents section.
