Thanks for the advice guys, speaker wire worked like a charm :D saved me a week and 20 bucks

Got it hooked up today along with one of those imitation tiny tachs, both seem to work great so far. Too busy to go for a ride. Will be happy to find out what temps and rpms I am turning
