Re: Trailtech CHT lead extension
What is so special about trail tech's wire?
cut it and make it as long as you need with speaker wire.

Re: Trailtech CHT lead extension
I am positive it works.
I too, once over thought this very problem.
In a bold move to get my cht where I could see it, I cut mine.
I extended it with similar gauge speaker wire, and I works great.
I would solder and heat shrink tube your connections.

I have both the 24" and the 12" because my Aero 80 is bigger, but only needed the 24".

Re: Trailtech CHT lead extension
You are better off buying the correct extensions. Its kinda of a pain to splice in the wires and it is somewhat rigged when complete. You spent $100+ on the kit, just buy the $9.00 extension

Re: Trailtech CHT lead extension
Yup!!!! I just used the spare wires that came in my 6 1/2in speaker kit. Spliced right in the middle of the sensor wire between the connector and the spark plug temp sensor.had it like that for 2yrs now and same battery in the tto gauge. The battery in the vapor gauge dies quickTrafficjamz wrote:What is so special about trail tech's wire?

Suppose if you suck at splicing wires together buy the "official wire" and wait for it in the mail.
