picked up a spree "special"

Post by alexcarey »

hey everyone, been a long time since ive been on here. have been restoring a 65 dream. so i went to my gf cousins sons birthday party yesterday and noticed a nice complete spree special sitting in the back yard. after a couple beers with the guy than owned it i was loading it into my 4runner free of charge. no title but hey beggers cant be choosers. anyway while inspecting the engine later in the evening i noticed it is stamped af05e. i head some sprees have this stamp even though they are non variated? hoping someone could clear this up for me? thanks all pictures soon to come.

Special is such a cool find. The look is very 80's. Like it, like it....
Dream is sweet, too... :thumbwink: ...the whole Cafe' thing has been getting played as a "hipster" thing
here in Nashville. Most of the guys I ride with are a bit tired of it. Not me., but to each his own.
I have an NS50F that satisfies my cafe' bug.
You seldom see a dream that has been taken down as far as yours, not that yours is all that stripped.
With the frame design, makes it tough to get the rear fender bobbed into anything attractive.
I would have a hard time cutting that fender.
Seeya on the funway ! ! .... :urban:

I was looking for one of those before I bought my '85. I had no luck. Two came up, but both had no titles. Here in IL it is illegal to buy any vehicle without a title, plus I wanted a street runner, so both times I tried to track down the last registered owners, thanks to a buddy at the DMV, but came up dry. I was mad. LOL
Black 85 Spree-SOLD

Red 87 Spree... Ended up buying the same one mentioned below.

I started riding my uncle's 87 Spree at the drag strip when I was 8...

It's easier to stop caring three years ago than it is to fix it in present time.
