Past 3000 kms on the odo now. Still running great.
Had to clean the spark plug the other day, was misfiring.
I had a little "bead" of burnt oil between the electrodes and the plug was dirty.
Hadn't cleaned it since buying it, so that is about 2200 kms without taking the plug out.

Went for a ride a couple of days ago (50kms/almost 40 miles) two up. My brother and I! Funny.
TT is able to ride along at 55/60 kilometers per hour with two adults, take off is really ok too and going uphills is no problem.
What a terrific little engine.

Last week, I did a maintenance service stuff.
Clean air filter, have a look at the plug and stuff around, take the body apart and clean it.

Hey GSX. Perhaps you can help me,

My 85 "LEAD" NH50-F has the worst headlight known to man, No High beam (French market model) Can you help me find out what headlight bulb this thing uses, I'm trying to find a higher wattage replacement but since the french market headlights are different then EVERYWHERE else in the world, I'm stumped.

And being in the united stated the dealer tells me the scooter is supposed to have a "sealed beam" and it does not. As I think the only other member here with a french model, do you have a list of those wacky "moped" laws? trying to find out things like why don't I have a horn? or a kill switch?

Hi,
50cc here in France are speed restricted to 45 km/h, you can drive them starting from when you're 14 years old and without a drivers license (they did introduce a sort of exam a couple of years ago so the young ones have a minimum of knowledge of road rules though).
So, a moped would hardly go out of a city on open roads, so why a high beam? And as in those years you didn't have to have a drivers license or an exam on road rules, they didn't suppose you would know when to put on or off the high beam.
So...no high beam on 50ccs here.
A bell (like a bicycle) or a horn was compulsory though. And the scoots like your Lead did have a horn and a bulb without high beam (look at the beginning of this post, my dashbord shows no high beam).
On those old 50ccs, you didn't get a kill switch either. I don't know why. Maybe scraping in some cents of economy still as it wasn't a compulsory equipement on 50ccs???

As for your bulb, all I know is that it is a 12v 15w one. I doubt you'll find a more powerfull one...
I don't know the type of the bulb though. You should take it out and have a look on it. You will find a reference.

It should look like something like this :
https://www.google.fr/search?q=Ampoule+ ... S&tbm=shop

BTW, I see that there are now halogen types...maybe you could put one of these in your head light?

The front fork and geometry is completely modified, the wheels are special and use car type tireS (flat), you would also need to take the electrics and hydraulics (brakes and lights) off...
Plus you don't have the right to. Indeed, the bike is heavily modified, much reinforcement on the chassis, and has passed a legal reception to be allowed to use it on the road : it's papers say that it is no longer a motorbike BUT a side-car. A whole different thing.
Are you saying that "you don't have the right to." to remove the side car on your bike, the one you paid for?

Yes, it is considered as a entire unit and not as a motorcycle + an "object" beside it.
It is registered as a side car and doesn't exist as a motorcycle anymore.
If I wanted to bring it back on the road as a motorcycle, I should have the title modified and pass the whole reception tests again and have it registered as a bike.

Hi GSX. A sidecar is just a sidecar here in us. it can be removed or installed as you wish. no charge.
I think it's just a tax charge for you. :bs: I know we have some B.S. tax charges here too.
P.S. sweet bike with sweeter sidecar :thumbwink: and the aero is so clean.
