Greetings:

Stock wheel/tire diameters guarantee a Honda-intended speedometer "Optimisme" of 10-12%. Yours sounds even more optimistic but your Car Speedo may also be erroneous. The best way to check speedo accuracy is to carry a GPS and compare. If you install a fatter front tire - up to 3.50 can fit, the speedo will read slower for a given groundspeed. My own 2001 is actually about 3% Pessimistic now with that S1 Michelin 3.50x10. Not so good for traffic citations.

Hi, I have 3.00 x 10" at the moment (standard size here in France for these scoots).
The car's speedo IS optimistic as I said. I measured it with a GPS.
The GPS is out of order so I have nothing good and sure for measuring the scoots speed sadly.

What surprises me is the fact that is looks like it is cheating now and that it wasn't the case before my un restricting and top speed test.

The only way to check this out at the moment (without a GPS), would be to put the restricted ramp plate back in. But I am a bit fed up with demanteling for the while. Just want to ride it.

Trying to find someone to lend me a GPS...

Unlike modern electronic motorcycle speedometers that read from the transmission output shaft, your Scooter speedo reads only the speed of front wheel rotation. Therefore no change you make to the transmission or belt-drive will affect your speedometer reading. Therefore it was cheating just the same before you de-restricted.

I was thinking maybe the spring got damaged by spending too much time hitting the tab around the "65-70" km/h area???

Had a look at the phone : it's a Motorola M Blur Motodefy. Do you think the GPS Speed stuff would work on it and know of a link to see a tutorial? Forcot to say I'm not at ease with these things...but you had guessed so, hadn't you?

My speedo started working okay by itself the other day. *???
So cruising speed is easily 50 to 55 km/h.
Top speed is 60. Sometimes 65 with a little pushing wind or slight downhill.
Satisfying enough.

Already 2000 kilometers on the clock (850 the day I bought it end of august).

A quick question :
Are the drive belts for these Aero50's something easy to come on or to get at the dealers?
I found someone who has 6 of them. They are new and Honda OEM (23100 GN 2 0030).
Price is 10 Ôé¼uros (good price?).

They don't LOOK dried out.
If it is hard to find, I was thinking of buying one and keeping it in case of...good idea?

BTW, what is the life span (mileage or years) of these belts "usually"?

Thank you all for your input.

An TT is still going strong and ok. Very happy with this scoot!

Bonjour:

10Ôé¼ sounds cheap if new. Plan on a belt each year depending on kilometres ridden.
Dealers and vendors like Malossi should have belts for a long time. A spare in the boite a gants is never a bad idea - with the tools to install.

Once a year?! Wow...anyways, for 10Ôé¼, I'll buy a spare one just in case. It is reassuring that other brands still exist to get a belt. So Honda is NA now?

Hi all,
Still riding my Aero and everything is ok. Since installing the fuel filter inline, no more carb problems.
I just fill it with gas and ride it.
Almost 2500kms on the clock.
