American scooter parts industry

Post by Eft37 »

So, in my thread about Dr. Pulley knock-offs, I was treated to this statement of irony:
American scooter parts industry
seen here:
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=25046

which if you can hold your irony quotient in (this is a Honda scooter forum, after all), is just a fun thing to read about.

Given that I assume (and we all know that acronym) that at least 80% of the users here are based in some form of the USA. I wonder what actual parts that we all know and love, are made here?

Sure, there's this guy's veiled "For Sale" post of:
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=25018
for a sidecar for a Metropolitan or other 50cc scooter (I assume-again, that this is handmade in Florida)

But, what other goodies are there? Post links below.

Another Florida product or at least assembly in Florida is the spree pipe Noiseguy produced.

The sidestands that Rich from Vegas started.

Lots of custom Ruckus stuff is made stateside by the venerable machine shops. Oil radiator bracket that holds a Chinese radiator. Mikuni fuel pump bracket. An assortment of seat subframes, the coveted Cloud 9. Phallic symbol pegs, standard pegs, stretch kits, some wheels.
