I don't wave at anybody. I'm afraid to let go of the handle bars. I do beep at everyone. The Harley guys, the Honda gang, Yamaha folks, all cars, bicycles, and people walking. I get waves back from most everyone I beep at. I even got a nood from a Harley guy once. But, like the old TV ads back in the 80's, "You meet the nicest people on a Honda".

I will depending on how comfortable I feel removing my hand from the handlebar. If the wind and road are rough, I'm not going to risk a crash to wave at someone. Sometimes I do a half-wave, keep my palm on the edge of the grip and extend out my fingers. Whether or not they can see it, I don't know. Just depends.

I don't feel bad if I wave and they don't. Maybe they were looking at something else more pressing, maybe they didn't feel safe removing their hand. Maybe they were braking for something in the road ahead.

I wave at everyone, but when they don't wave back I feel award and ride along, then again it could be a safe rider and they don't take their hands of both bars. Lolz

I put a post on this thread early spring and noted that I didn't wave to anybody. The reason was I only had about a hundred miles in the seat and thought I should keep both hands on the bars. But now that I have about 1200 miles behind me I'm much better in the seat and thought I would revise my post.

I wave at everyone now and to my surprise almost everyone waves back. Big bikes and little ones. I always wave first and the ones that don't wave back may be for safety reason. Not many no wavers tho.

Thought I'd add that revision. Happy riding to all.

When I use to own my big bikes I'd never wave at the Harley guys unless they waved first which wasn't often.
Riding my CH80 I rarely wave being I don't like having only one hand on the bar, just not safe.
If anyone waves at me I just nod my head.

One of my friends use to ride with me when we both had the same bike, the Honda Shadow 600.
That all changed when he bought his first Harley, he started hanging around with the Harley guys.
I just don't understand why they don't wave at non-Harley riders.

It was a little different when I owned my Honda Goldwimg, most Harley guys respect the Wing.

Best waves I get are the ones when I'm in my car.

Always keep an eye (and ear) out for bikers and make sure they have plenty of room for filtering.
