Gauge cluster for my spree

Post by patthesoundguy »

I liked the analog tach but I found the digital ones online for $16 free shipping so 8 got one for both machines. And every one needs a cylinder temp gauge.:-D

now to wire the two gauges and clean the fab work and paint it.

The analog tach works but I have to keep adjusting the screw on the circuit board to make it work. It was pretty cheap so I don't mind, just drilled a hole in the case to get at it. I may just put a dot of hot glue on the screw and keep it from vibrating out of adjustment.

Do you know if it's accurate? I had a lot of reading problems with my Lawnmower... (I'm building a racer and it never worked right until I scrapped the single-cylinder engine for a dual cylinder.)

The analogue tach seems accurate as long as screw on the board inside stays put. I'll know when I glue it in place and test it a bunch. The digital tach is the way to go for accuracy for sure, and all it needs is to wrap the trigger wire around the plug wire and go and it works on just about anything with a small engine, you can set it for twins or single cylinder 4 stroke or 2 stroke.
