Anyone interested in Chat functionality here?

The place to discuss rides, accessories, or whatever is tangentially Spree/Elite-related

Anyone interested in Chat functionality here?

Post by noiseguy »

All,

There is a chat module that I can enable for this board. I left it out for simplicity at first, and because there weren't enough users. Besides, you can always use AIM or IRC for chatting.

That said, anyone interested in chatting using this board's interface, let's hear it here if you think it's worthwhile.

Most definately, from time to time, people will be posting (late at night, which means sleep deprived) and get sooooo off topic, it's not even funny. So with chat, when we feel we're getting off topic, we can go chat. I'm 100% for it.

I don't see a reason not to have it. People tend to get off task on occasion, and it would be a good way not to clog up all the forums with junk that doesn't help people not fix their sprees.

It's in progress. I haven't yet figured out how to link up the PHPNuke accounts with the PHPOpenChat, so you'll need to re-register with your handle for now. In keeping with tradition here, I'm not allowing anonymous guest access. Give it a shot, but if it isn't working right yet, all I've got to say is it's in beta. PM me with issues.

just tried out the beta chat. registered name successfully, and was able to send text to be displayed. possible bugs: if you close the small window where you type text, you cannont get it back. you cannot switch between other minimized web pages. the chat page refreshes constantly and stays on top.

lookin good so far. :)
