Post by luckyrabbit7 »

I just bought a honda gyro on ebay for $159. I always thought they came in 2 colors, 85 black 86 red. This one is gold

This is the first GOLD gyro that has surfaced in the last 5 years that I have been owning them.
I am surprised....
Nowhere in my Honda Identification Guide does this info appear.
Can you link the info that tells of this option in color LoveMyHonda ??
Let's see some more pix, please, you luckyrabbit... :urban:

I've only seen the color on the stream which is the late model gyro. I assumed the us counterpart had the same option. As for bs, I'm only stating the record as to the best of my reckoning. I'm not sure where the guy lives so I have no clue what he has access to. If you know there's no color of gold on the gyro and have read it it's probably true. I'm by no means the gyro expert. I focus on scooters that can function outside of the camp grounds.
Either way cool deal for cheap.

LMH = LoveMyHonda
it was only a friendly call of "bull-shet"...no worries...
and an honest request to the contrary if it was indeed truth
The '85 came new with gold wheels and gold lettering, but that's where it stopped.
The plastics and exhaust shields are black.
Now, the Road Fox is a completely different story, to which I can claim total ignorance... :urban:

OH, and the following images are NEAR a campground, so there...:P

It could be a rattle can job , but what about those fender stickers.
I never saw those on the red or black,

That Gyro was a super deal regardless of how it was 'midasized' I think it is a non Honda paint job. It's thin at the front of the rear fender, front fender mounts and parts of the cover over the battery.

The rear fender logo font does not match the Red nor Black TG50's
Letter spacing between "GYRO" and "S" is too tight
The slant font of GYRO vs vertical "S" is inconsistent.

IMHO - Honda was not the supplier of those graphics.

Still it's a killer deal, I'd have been in the bid pool if it were nearby :hi:

Midasized , that cracks me up. Hope it was a owner paint job, then I wont feel bad about painting it black.
