We need to have someone 3d scan a petcock cover so we can have them printed by anyone with a 3d printer. I'm going to see if there is any one around me that can do it. Do you folks have any one that can do that?

That's awesome mike! I'm going to put some feelers out here too. I think it would be a great asset to the board to be able to download the file like a manual.

Greetings:

Find out if he can 3D print a ported Fabrizi cylinder kit and a Windjammer pipe. Oh, also a young Angelina Jolie.

I did a Solidworks 3D model of the petcock cover I just purchased off of KillingSpree (Thanks). I check with some online 3D printing houses and the best I could find was $64 each or $52 in a quantity of 20. Material would be white nylon, if you wanted it in some other color or material the price almost doubled. If anyone can find it for less the model is available.

There is already more than one person reproducing these Spree petcock covers, the CH250 battery cover is also reproduced.
Since they are readily available, why bother attempting to make them ?
I think it would be a better use of skill and time to reproduce items that are no longer available.
I did make my own oversize retainers to insure the covers would never fall off.
You can buy full/complete plastic sets for most current dirt bikes.
I think a brand new complete Spree plastic set would be a great product to sell. A white set would probably sell for the most money.

I did find a couple of members that were reproducing them but none seem to be making them any longer. These parts are quite hard to find so if you know of some one still making them please let me know.

wow that was quick, that looks amazing. Great work! Well now we have the 3d model and 3D printing is only going to get cheaper.

did anything surface about this? i would love to try printing this model (i have a 3d printer and just ordered a spool of nylon)
i really dont want to attempt to make a 3d model from scratch (i suck at it) or try and use my ct scanner (at work) to attempt to get a 1:1 copy
i am willing to pay for the model in either printed parts or paypal

My daughters technology teacher will make a prototype, and give me a price. (I did all the trim, cabinets, and hardwood in his new house.) I have numerous covers I just need to get one to him. Or if the file above will work for him? Or if it is even available to use. He said he can get just about any color in many materials. The school has 3 printers and he owns 2 more. What material is the OEM cover? I have 2 of fishman's (I think that's who made them) covers in primer color he made a few years back. he did an awesome job making them and sold them at an awesome price. I wish I would of asked for more but it was his first run. I thought there would be tons more with the color issue he had ironed out. Did Honda get ahold of him?? :surprise:
