Looking at a CL add for a 2013 Auto moto - looks kinda fun:

Asking $650.00, retails for over 3000. low mileage

Silver one is available - yellow one sold

Anyone know anything about these?

Honda's patents on the GYRO must have expired.
Those do look fun, have you ever done figure eights in a GYRO ?
Leaning a Gyro is more fun than driving one in a straight line.

Only have had contact with two owners of this AutoMoto
Both are not overly thrilled with their decisions to buy it and would not buy a second one.
I have to wonder about power-to-weight ratio and the drag and sheer factors... :urban:

So this happened yesterday:

As you can see, it is a real mess and almost everything on it is broken, but it does have a Florida title, so I am thinking of fixing it up. As near as I can tell, the Auto Moto 125 is really a Xingyue XY125ZK.

Here are some good links:

The previous owner cut the seat in half, and added more storage room behind the seat. I think he had seen the UPS commercial in this link:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G9ORfFortN0

It came with a new windshield, but I will still need to find a few impossible-to-find-parts, notably the windshield wiper and an original two person seat. I do have all the underseat plastic panels but they aren't in the photos. This one was originally silver. To get this one usable, I will end up spending way more than the $650 asking price for the very nice silver one in the 2015 ad for $650, and it won't be nearly as nice.

"Basket Man" strikes again !
You should re-post a new thread about the work that you
do to this trike during the fix-up.
The first time I slid onto the seat of one of these,
I cracked my head on the canopy.
Decided right then that I don't want one...HA !
I will keep my eyes open for any parts bikes.

mm,
I hear you..not sure I will restore this one though.. it will never be as nice as the one in the craigslist ad linked by Meatball. As you can see in my photos, the previous owner completed a basketization already, and in an ironic twist of fate, that was the first thing I removed and took to the junkyard.. hahahaha.. the scooter was already HUGE, and the basketization added two feet to the overall length.

In the next two days, I am going to first put an inner tube in one of the rear tires so it holds air more than 6 seconds, and then remove all the non-original parts and clean up everything else. Then I'll see if I can get the engine running. If I can, then a test run around the block will answer a lot of questions and will probably decide the fate of this scooter. If it is no fun to ride, then it won't get restored and I'll move on to something else. I would like to find an original seat or at least a seat pan..
