Honda Gyro price

Post by luckyrabbit7 »

I'm selling my 1986 Honda Gyro. Was looking for some opinions on the price i was asking. I was asking $975, I'm not getting alot of responses on it. just some offers like would you take $400 cash for it.
I thought $975 was fair, because it has the battery and engine covers. Take a look and let me know what you think. Thanks jim

You are simply offering an item that not many people have ever seen, or heard of.
The quirkiness of Gyro takes a particular appreciation, which most will never possess.
Your price is fair, and would be getting more replies in a Florida or western market... :urban:
edit: I paid $600, $800, and $360 for the 3 I have bought in the last 5 years.
The $800 trike turned out to be the worst one.
It is sitting in the corner of the garage just gathering cobwebs waiting for
the '85 I ride to break down...and I can't seem to break it...

I sold my 84 Gyro for $1200. It did have new paint, decals, tires and looked great.
This should give you an idea what to ask.
Please keep in mind that the general public has no idea how rare these are, and the majority of people dont want scooters that wont go over 40 mph. So yes the market is very limited on who will buy it, but there are a lot of collectors who do know what it is, your mission is to find those guys.
1984 Aero 125 57 mph for sale.

Elite 150 64 mph for sale.

Elite 250 77 mph. for sale.

Red Honda Grom, modded to 250cc, 87 mph.

GSXR 1000 168 mph. My new favorite, scooters seems way too slow now.

Thanks for the replies. May give it a little more time, then list it on ebay. I thought it was priced reasonable and i know it will get chewed down some.

Set your reserve price where you won't have to sell it for cheap...compute the fees first... :thumbwink:

This gyro is in pretty nice shape, except for a couple of small problems.
1 The glass is missing on the speedometer
2 missing the screw for the engine cover

I have a extra speedometer that goes with the sale.
I'm not sure of how the engine cover attaches to the fender cowl.
There is a hole in the engine cover that lines up with Tab with a hole in the cowl.
But the hardware is missing. Does anyone know what I'm missing?
Thanks jim

After 2 or 3 weeks on craigslist and not one person coming down to see it, you guys convinced me to give ebay a shot. Feel free to check it out and put in a bid. I'm sure you can guess the reserve.

Its not setting the world on fire, don't think it will come close to the 12-1500 mark.

graphite9 wrote:thats a steal. Seriously

the batt cover is worth $200

rear fender $290

air box and motor cover $150

plastics on floorboard $200

Those are just a few pieces. I bet you'd actually get close to $14-1600 on ebay.
.....pffft, REALLY ?

Well the ebay listing ended at a whopping $203. I relisted it,but i don't think it will do much better.

Sad day in Gyro-land...
According to graphite9, you can sell the plastics for over $800...which I find unlikely.
This poor response to your complete, very nice Gyro seems to support my doubts.

I think those plastic prices were on the high side, but I think graphite9 did have a point that this scooter is worth more in pieces.
Hopefully I can find a buyer for it in one piece. Just need a bidding war to break out.

Try explaining more about the gyro s in your ad. Emphasize that it tilts in the turns but doesn't fall over, it is quality Japanese Honda unlike the modern import honda, the moped status means cheap insurance and good on fuel...

Thanks eliteguy50 . I took your advice and your words added to my craigslist ad.
I tried it on ebay, but it wasn't taking my youtube link.
