Oil Mixture Problem

Post by emats »

Hi all,

I'm having an issue with running too lean and the moped bogging. i'm running a 28mm carb and idle jet is 140 - EDIT IDLE JET = 52. It's a stroker motor, water cooled. The problem is that when I try to put more than 1 oz. of oil per gallon of gas, the moped bogs on throttle and dies out when coming to a stop. Runs too rich. At the moment I have 2 oz. of 2 stroke oil to the gallon and it's bogging again so I had to lean out the mixture screw a lot. I don't want to keep turning out the scew since eventually it'll come loose. The question is what should i do? Down jet? If so, what size should I use? I guess proper mixture would be around 4 oz. to a gallon but not sure - please inform me on the topic.

Thanks in advance.
