Just picked up a CH150

Hey guys, just joined. Not new to scooters, but I AM new to this CH150 Elite. It was a mess when I got it, the PO pulled the carb off and had no idea what he was doing. Vac lines were off, screws were loose, oh and there was RTV IN the bowl. What a mess.
Anyway, in standard fashion when something new rolls into my shop, I tore it apart to learn it. I now know lots of things about this, but I still can't get it to do anything more than idle. The MAIN thing I am dealing with right now is sorta embarrassing. I can't get the air inlet tube to stay on the carburetor. Am I missing something? It should just pop on there and then tighten down with a clamp, correct?
I got all the vac lines situated, a new fuel line, and I even tested it by sucking on the hose going to the fuel petcock to make sure fuel flowed.

Anyway, here's some pics of this thing of 80's beauty, and for good measure I have included pics of my other Hondas and misc toys.

Welcome Vegas! You found the right forum for sure, but as you already might know you can get a bunch of info on the 150 over at motorscooterguide.net.

Take a real good look at the intake manifold. I read they are prone to cracking and my 85 150d with 1k miles was cracked.

Holy crap that carb bowl...

Yep. Always wanted one when I was younger. Now that I am all growd up, I can do what I want. That one popped up for sale in August and I negotiated with the guy for two days via text. My wife was * when I told her "BRB, going to get a YSR for $800" until she saw it. Then she said "Wait, you paid $800 for this? It's AWESOME!".

Unfortunately, I had it out in the driveway during a party on Sept 5th, and my friends stupid kid rammed a toy into it and knocked it over. It took everything I had not to blow that 6 year olds face off with my 870. The parent, a friend of mine, offered to pay for the smashed fairing and windshield, but I haven't seen any of that $240 yet...

Anyway, when I got it there were no lights or wiring for the lights. I found everything I needed on the YSR forum and installed it all. Just waiting on rear turn signals and a new headlight bulb and she's road legal. I will tear it down over the winter and repaint the fairings and tank, prob to the same colors.

So, got the CH150 all back together. Hoses were wrong, routed incorrectly, or missing all together. Ran new vac line to petcock and new fuel line to carb after rebuilding the carb. Got it to run and idle, but it won't rev up, it chokes out and dies. I am about to give up, no patience anymore.
