Hello from Louisiana

Post by Cajun Kevin »

Just wanted to give a shout out to you guys.
I bought my very first scoot five weeks ago, 2001 Elite 80 from a one owner.
Bought it with 3315 miles on her, five weeks later I now have 4200.

I own a custom detail shop and use the scoot for pickups when needed.

I've been reading a lot here since buying my scoot so why not join and be part of it!

Thanks ,

One reason for the great shine is the older gentleman never abused it and always parked it in his shop when not using it.
Glass coating just gave it that wet look.

It does look better in person, loving it !

Looks great any tips to get my black plastics to shine like that. They are in good shape and just can't seem to get them to shine like they could.

If you want the most shine I recommend the following.

First, wash down the plastics with a good car soap, using a dish detergent to wash them will cause fading as it tends to dry out the plastics over time.

We use high speed buffers in my shop but if you don't have one you could do it by hand.

After the wash clay bar the panels to remove contaminants , very important.
You can buy an over the counter polish like Meguiar's Ultimate Polish, doing by hand works fine, just takes a little more time.

Lastly , apply up to four coats of Liquid Glass that can be found at most auto stores, wait a few hours between coats.

That's it, now you just wash it using the car soap, should last a year or more.

If you have any questions please just ask, I'll be happy to help.
