Tube and Skeleton Frame Scoots - anyone built one?

Post by Kustomkarma »

Just like the title says. Has anyone ever seen or built a tube or skeleton frame scooter out of an earlier Honda model? I was looking at one of my SA50's and was wondering how it would look without all the plastic and a more streamlined (less upright) frame. Has anyone built a custom tube frame then moved all the parts over from a Spree or SE50, NB50, etc.? Same goes for the Yamaha Jog, etc. I've seen a few online, but they tend to look kinda weird. Anyone got any pics?

Theres plenty of ways to tube style it, normally only good for drag bikes you loose like no weight from plastics.

I've seen that one - pretty crazy. I was thinking along the lines of something that looked sort of like a Ruckus or a motorcycle. It's more of a looks than a performance thing I guess. I'm tossing around some ideas on what to do with the scoots I have.

Just buy a chopped frame and lighten it and put a dio motor on it.

There's a big customising scene in the UK using Lambrettas and Vespas.
They're often skeletoned in to 'cutdowns'

Whoa those are different! ^^^ Kinda ironic as Lambrettas and Vespas are all about the shape of the body in my mind.
