Do I need one of these?

Post by vintagegarage »

I had never heard of a Honda Joker until this one popped up on craigslist near me:

http://miami.craigslist.org/mdc/mcy/5691503749.html

I thought that the motorscooterguide had entries for every model, but I don't see a reference to the Joker, A.K.A. Shadow.

http://www.motorscooterguide.net/Honda/Honda.html

I did find this page:

https://hondajoker.wordpress.com/honda_joker/

Wikipedia has an entry at:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_Joker

and here is a link to their image:

I have two questions...

How come I haven't heard of the joker until this morning?

Why don't I already have one or two of these in the fleet?

Odd that article says these were sold in US in late 90's. I've never heard of them either.

I need one of these! The Joker 90 has a trailing-link front suspension with disc brake. I have seen these front fork set-ups used on a gyro x and wondered if they would fit on an elite, or an aero frame........ :naughty:

Have any of you guys seen these?

It's a Honda Motocompo, made between 1981 - '83 as pretty much a suitcase type scooter that folds up and fits in the back of a small 80's Honda car known as the City

There are still a few in NZ but they dont come up often, and when they do it'll lighten your wallet somewhat to get one in the garage

With 210 watching, but nobody buying, I'd say there are a lot more Honda scooter guys lurking out there than one would think.. Maybe it is the $350 shipping or that there is only one key for it has them hesitating.. lol:

Those I've heard of but never seen in person.

The Squash looks like a squashed squash, ironically.
