How can I buy from a Japan auction?

Post by Meatball »

I see a part I want in a Japan auction. I have no idea how to make the purchase. Has anyone ever done this? I see they take Paypal so that's great but Im worried that it doesn't post a shipping fee. My luck Id buy a $100 item and the shipping fee would be another $100. Does anyone have an account already set-up?

You must be a resident of Hawaii first, then just phone in your order. :thumbwink:

Not sure a phone in order would work unless Google Translate can convert my voice to Japanese.

I've not used it, but Yahoo Auctions seems to have a system setup for US buyers. I window shop there all the time. I'm sure you have to make an account and then you buy. Shipping will be HIGH. I have Japanese friends, so I ask them for assistance in shipping or searching for specific parts. I even wait for when they are shipping other stuff to the US to piggyback with that shipment.

Link to what I use.
Good Luck.

Shipping isn't as bad as you'd think. Shipping from Italy is 50% more. You need to create an account and learn Japanese. The translate is often far from an accurate description

Contact the seller. Ask in English if they'll ship to US and what it will cost. You might be surprised.

Good advice. The weather here in the great Northwest has turned for the worst so I wont be riding any time soon. Ill just sit back and wait for a good deal to come along. People tend to sell off a bunch of stuff in the offseason.

I have used this auction a few times. Here is what I know.
1. Sign up and create account
2. Start shopping or looking for items you want
3. Write down item/auction number
4. Email the authorized email with you items name and number
5. They will reply with the total amount in Japanese yen
6. You then add funds to your account with PayPal
7. Once they have seen the funds availible in account they will bid on the item
8. Once they win they will do all the shopping and handling to get the item to you.
It's like a third person auction. They will bid and pay for items and ship to you. But depending on how big and how heavy. They will let you know if it will be able or not. Trust me it's a lot to soak up but that's pretty much how I went through it to buy some parts I needed.

You have some real neat parts for that af34/35 beejay. I'm looking into getting some of the same ones. I want to try a chameleon belt and variator.

I use an agent for YahooJapanAuction.

The weather is going to be bad in Seattle. My niece lives there with her 4 kids and she is a bit worried about the wind.

I need to learn more about the "agent" thing. How do I get one? Do they charge a middleman fee? Whats the process?

Weather: Yeah, its bad here at the moment. Thousands without power and flooding everywhere. Biggest storm in 60yrs is what theyre saying but the news media blows everything way out of proportion for ratings...I'll believe it when I see it.

Thank you one 1man8scooters! The chameleon was from Victor, he has many cool parts for it.
