Cruising the sand at Daytona Beach

I was over at Daytona last weekend, and took this photo of an old guy with his Spree who had been riding up and down the beach. The sand is firm and easy to ride, but the speed limit is only 10 mph..

Greetings:

Old? OLD?! I resemble that remark. :)
Hope he sprays it with fresh water when he gets home/back to the trailer. Salty sand wreaks havoc on Al-Yew-Minnie-Yum and all metals.

Wheelman.. I talked with him for a while. He said he was 69.

MrJumps.. He also said his wife left him when he bought his 9th scoot, and he gave me some advice for 1man8scoots.. don't buy your ninth or you might loose your fiance..

1man.. as Tonto would say about you.. "him one lucky man".

My whole goal has been to have more scoots than you, but now the goal seems unobtainable.. lol.

I went over to Daytona Beach on Tuesday, and think this is the same old guy that is in the first picture. This time he had a bikini babe with him.. I don't understand how all the old fat guys end up with the cute women. He said it had nothing to do with money, but that women like scooters..

Beautiful weather, sandy beach, girl at your side and matching 87's....I envy that man.

When these things get up there in years, parts start to get worn, weathered and begin to really show their age. Looks here to be very well taken care of and in great condition. Even the headlights still look to be in nice shape.......oh, the Sprees look nice too.

Well done Mr Vintage...it takes me a fistful of cash and a promise of fidelity to get them down to bikini level.

I can't get anyone near these things lol. My wife, mom, brother, co-workers, friends, etc. are all either afraid of them or think they are too dorky. I sold my stepfather my SA50 and he rides it all over the place. He recently mounted a milk crate and PVC tubes to carry his fishing rods. Other than him, and this random guy that lives near me with an SE50, I'm the only one I know other than the vintage Vespa guys in my area. My stepfather had actually mentioned taking the scooters over to Daytona since we're only about an hour from there.
