Air filter question

Hi I have a new spree!
It runs sluggish until I un-clip the air filter cover.
With the air filter cover just off the littlest, the Spree runs fine,
but when I close the air cover correctly, in barely runs right.

Clean the filter, sounds gummed up. Or just get a new one. Also check the intake holes on the airbox for obstruction. Sometimes gets gunked up with road goop.

Thank you will try both. Do I oil the air filter after I clean it, or if I buy a new one?

YES,...and if the filter falls apart, you can help support the board by buying your new filter from noiseguy.

Don't goof like I did with my first at bat with a new spree and use bar and chain oil! I thought hey, works great on my stihl! Nastiest mess my carb has been plugged with yet! Best to use the same oil your bike is running with!

Up date, cleaned filter helped but what I think was problem, my green wire going to the underside of the frame was cut. I think and I do not know, that my auto choke my not have been working. This is just my thoughts, but runs pretty good.

Greetings:

The foam in the filters is inexplicably a bit sensitive to fuel vapors, particularly if it's over 5 years old. It can crumble and the fragments can and will foul the reeds if inhaled. Hit up NoiseGuy for an affordable replacement that is superior to stock.
