Parting (out) is such sweet sorrow
I'm tired of futzing with my spree and I plan to part it out. What's a fair price for say the carb or the speedo?
How much can I get for the kick start and the starting motor? (I understand they are hard to come by). Are the plastics worth anything if they are banged up and rattlecanned?
Money is tight at the moment and I'd like to get as much as I can, but I don't want to rip anyone off either.

Best thing to do is sell the whole she-bang on Craigslist. Prices have a wide range when factoring in title status, condition and geographical location. You could part it out for $20 here and $40 there for the handful of desirable pieces but what you'll be left with is about 80% of a Spree consisting of parts NOBODY wants. Ultimately you will forced to pay a disposal fee and it will end up in a landfill.
With all of the legwork to sell/ship 20 items and the money raised from such efforts...you could sell it as a whole and be done with it! Very likely end up with the same amount of money with much less work/effort.

I need to find some new haters...the ones I have are starting to like me.

Sir Meatball has given you the straight p00p.
Mailing parts gets tedious, time consuming, and only get rid of the few, choice bits.

Good choice. Youd be running around like crazy trying to get $200 from the random parts and spend weeks with emails/packing/shipping, etc..Seems appropriately priced for what it is too.

I see you've offered trade for a 70's moped.
While I respect the culture revolving around mopeds,
I believe that trying to get a moped running well, and then
KEEP a moped running well, under any circumstance, is a task for
only the very innovative, crafty, and hard-core mechanically adept.
Just an observation from 8 years of hanging with the deadped crew here. GLWS...

I used to have a puch maxi. It was the first thing I ever turned a wrench on. It was a great little ped. I kick myself daily for getting rid of it. Much easier to work on than scooters.

You have a head start on the game then...and agreed that working on peds is less overall "trouble" than scooters.thxcuz wrote:I used to have a puch maxi. Yeah. I thought it was a pain to replace the cylinder on a puch, then I started working on Chinese scoots. All that plastic and valves and chains and cams. A moped is a walk in the park compared to that.

I had an interested party contact me today but his interest is waning once I told him the rack is missing the rear turn signals (another of the former owner's "improvements")
